Core Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or similar field
- 2-3+ years supporting technical, research, data, or computing environments
- Experience coordinating technical projects and interacting directly with users/stakeholders
- Familiarity with:
- Linux environments
- HPC (High Performance Computing)
- Research computing platforms
- Cloud-based research environments
- Strong documentation, communication, and organization skills
- Experience tracking project timelines, risks, status reports, and deliverables
Preferred Skills:
- Research data compliance:
- NIST 800-171
- NIST 800-53
- FISMA
- HIPAA
- IRB requirements
- Healthcare or academic research environments
- Bioinformatics or life sciences exposure
- SLURM, workflow managers, scientific computing tools
- Consulting/customer-success style stakeholder management
- Data migration or scientific software deployment experience
- Advanced science or engineering degree
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle:
- Initiation
- Planning
- Scheduling
- Testing
- Release
- Stabilization
- Develop project schedules and resource plans
- Prepare status reports, presentations, and governance materials
- Track risks and project progress
Research Consulting
- Work directly with researchers and research groups
- Understand computing and data requirements
- Recommend secure research computing solutions
- Coordinate implementation with technical teams and vendors
Compliance & Secure Computing
- Help researchers work within secure computing environments
- Coordinate activities related to protected or regulated data
- Support adoption of secure research platforms
