Lead Data Engineer - Las Vegas, NV

Photon is a company that has powered many Digital Experiences for the Fortune 500 for the past 20 years. They are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive their data engineering initiatives and lead a team of 5-6 engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of 5-6 data engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Apache Airflow ( experience with Airflow 3 is preferred)
• Understanding of Snowflake architecture
• Integrate and maintain real-time streaming applications using Apache Kafka / Spark Streaming
• Build and integrate APIs across multiple systems and platforms
• Drive technical decision-making and establish best practices
• Ensure code quality through reviews and implementation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7-8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or related fields
• Strong proficiency in Apache Airflow (DAG development, workflow orchestration)
• Strong proficiency in Snowflake
• Strong proficiency in Advanced SQL (complex queries, performance tuning)
• Strong proficiency in Apache Kafka (streaming, event-driven architectures)
• Strong proficiency in API development and integration (REST/SOAP)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with Airflow 3 is preferred
• Proven experience leading technical teams (3+ years preferred)
