Senior Product Manager – Customer Portals & Document Import

Taxwell is a leading digital tax filing platform formed from the combination of Drake Software® and TaxAct®. They are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for their customer portal and document import solutions, focusing on creating intuitive experiences and ensuring compliance during peak tax season.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the product vision and roadmap for the customer portal and document import platform, including both platform evolution and new product innovation
• Balance innovation with platform stability and reliability in a mission-critical environment
• Identify opportunities to improve client collaboration, document workflows, customer value, and new product offerings
• Evaluate opportunities using customer insights, product analytics, data, and market analysis
• Lead planning and execution of annual tax law updates
• Partner with Tax Program Managers, Tax Analysts, and Engineering to implement federal and state tax changes accurately and on time
• Prioritize product enhancements while balancing customer needs, engineering effort, and fixed regulatory deadlines
• Ensure product readiness, scalability, and performance during peak tax season
• Improve customer portal experiences, document upload and import workflows, return preparation, review, and electronic filing
• Drive improvements in secure document sharing, permissions, client collaboration, and workflow efficiency
• Partner closely with Engineering on architecture, performance, scalability, and technical priorities
• Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and roadmap decisions clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership
• Identify and validate new product opportunities through customer discovery, product analytics, and market trends
• Lead initiatives from ideation → validation → MVP → launch → scale
• Rapidly test and iterate using customer feedback and experimentation
• Explore opportunities to apply AI, automation, intelligent document processing, and modern cloud capabilities to improve customer workflows

Requirements:

• Lead product strategy, 0→1 innovation, and execution for professional desktop and emerging cloud-based tax solutions
• Own the product roadmap, annual tax season delivery, and long-term evolution of customer portal, document import, secure document sharing, and client collaboration platform
• Create intuitive, secure experiences that simplify document collection, document ingestion, client communication, and tax preparation workflows
• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax law changes
• Maintain a high-performance, reliable experience during peak tax season
• Partner closely with Engineering, UX, Customer Support, and Sales to define product strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver solutions
