About this role
SAMO AI CORPORATION is building next-generation technology companies focused on robotics and immersive computing. They are seeking a Founding Mechanical Engineer to design and build advanced humanoid and quadruped robots as well as VR technology products.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical assemblies from concept through production
- Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
- Perform tolerance analysis and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Select materials and manufacturing processes
- Work closely with electrical, firmware, robotics, and software engineers
- Build, assemble, and test prototypes
- Iterate designs based on testing and feedback
- Support transition from prototype to manufacturing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience designing complex mechanical systems
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, CATIA, or Onshape)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience with one or more of the following: Humanoid robotics
- Quadruped robotics
- Actuator integration
- Gearboxes and power transmission
- Structural analysis
- Robotics hardware
- Consumer electronics
- Wearable technology
- VR/XR hardware
- Product prototyping
- Manufacturing and production engineering
