About this role
The Cigna Group is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support the operation and performance of their network security infrastructure. The role involves managing incidents, performing maintenance, and ensuring high-quality service delivery through effective response to incidents and network improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monitoring and event management support for network security
- Perform initial investigation and triage for alerts and events
- Troubleshoot complex/multitier issues within the network infrastructure
- Provide 90% of resolved tickets of incidents on first touch
- Perform escalation of incidents to higher tier support groups, vendors, and other support staff based on Operations processes when unable to resolve the incident
- Provide technical support on managed line calls
- Accurately log and document FW Ops incidents in Service Now ticketing system
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the monitoring and event management tools and processes
- Provide planning and vendor oversight for network change activity
- Report key performance metrics to management
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in firewall/network operations/engineering
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience in configuration & operation of network management instruments such as SNMP, SYSLOG, NetFlow, etc
- Experience with packet capture tools such as, Wireshark, and tcpdump
- Well versed in crisis management and root cause analysis techniques
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Experience with F5 load balancers to include the GTM and LTM platforms
- Experience with Cisco ASA, routers and switches
- Experience with Python or scripting
