Lead Frontend/Full Stack Software Engineer (1099 Independent Contractor)

Quantum Health is a privately-owned, independent healthcare navigation organization dedicated to simplifying healthcare for its members. The Lead Frontend/Full Stack Software Engineer will provide technical leadership in designing and delivering modern web and mobile applications, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture decisions to ensure high-performing solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead frontend and mobile application architecture using React, React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Design and develop scalable, responsive web and mobile applications
• Partner with backend engineers to define APIs, integrations, and data flows
• Drive architecture decisions focused on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
• Mentor engineers and promote software engineering best practices
• Champion code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to deliver exceptional user experiences
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate
• Support production troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or a related field
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong expertise with React, React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building scalable web and mobile applications
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and backend systems
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud environments and modern application architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases
• Experience with responsive design, accessibility, performance optimization, and component-based architecture
• Experience with design systems and UI frameworks such as Material UI or Ant Design
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Experience in healthcare, health technology, payer, provider, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, and secure software development practices
• Experience with Progressive Web Applications (PWAs)
• Experience evaluating build-versus-buy solutions and vendor technologies
