EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst with a data engineering mindset to help modernize client reporting. The role involves shaping a Snowflake reporting database for complex insurance SMA needs and partnering with various teams to define data flows, requirements, and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Define future-state reporting architecture in Snowflake by partnering with Client Reporting, Geneva Tech, Everest Tech, Data Ops, and Investment Operations
- Document current-state reporting data flows and map end-to-end inputs to client reporting outputs across source systems
- Translate complex insurance SMA client reporting requirements into data, modeling, and integration specifications
- Design source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and reconciliation logic across Geneva, Everest, and other sources
- Write and review SQL to validate datasets, prototype reporting outputs, and support data quality investigations
- Specify data quality, validation, and reconciliation requirements to ensure reporting accuracy and auditability
- Identify manual steps in reporting workflows and define requirements to reduce or remove manual intervention
- Produce functional and technical documentation, including business requirements, mappings, data models, lineage diagrams, and control specifications
- Support corporate action asset transfer automation in Geneva by documenting processes and defining delivery requirements
- Collaborate with Technology and QA teams to clarify requirements during build and testing and support UAT planning and execution
- Track gaps, risks, and dependencies and escalate issues early to protect timelines and controls
- Maintain traceability between requirements, delivered functionality, and control objectives
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Analytics Engineer supporting reporting or data platform initiatives
- Proven stakeholder leadership across Client Reporting, Data Operations, and Technology teams to drive alignment and delivery
- Strong project execution skills to balance strategic client reporting work with BAU Investment Operations priorities
- Advanced SQL skills to validate data, prototype reporting outputs, and support data quality reviews
- Strong requirements analysis skills to translate complex reporting needs into clear data, modeling, and integration specifications
- Solid process analysis skills to identify manual steps and define requirements to eliminate manual intervention
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2, Upper-Intermediate) with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on Snowflake experience for building reporting layers and supporting reconciliation logic
- Experience with SS&C Advent Geneva and related investment accounting workflows
- Familiarity with asset management and complex institutional reporting requirements
- Knowledge of reconciliation and EOD/BOD procedures to strengthen controls and auditability
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Sigma, Power BI, or Tableau
