As a Staff Software Engineer, you will enhance the Developer Experience by developing essential tools and frameworks, driving improvements in productivity and operational efficiency within the engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, and advocate for the adoption of internal platform products (tools, libraries, and frameworks) to enhance the efficiency, quality, and velocity of Product Engineers, with a focus on enabling resilient CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for rapid and secure software delivery
- Establish and enforce security policies and best practices within the development lifecycle, automating compliance checks and vulnerability scanning
- Drive the standardization of technology choices, architectural patterns, and engineering practices across the organization to reduce complexity and foster consistency
- Define the platform roadmap and prioritize initiatives by proactively engaging with Product Engineering teams to gather feedback and analyze key Developer Experience (DevEx) and delivery performance metrics, utilizing frameworks like DORA
- Implement cutting-edge AI-related tooling and methodologies, such as Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-powered Code Review, in collaboration with the AI & DevEx leadership
- Serve as a senior mentor, guiding other engineers in best practices for platform usage, service ownership, and operational excellence
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on engineering, infrastructure, or developer experience (DevEx)
- Expert proficiency in one or more of the company's primary backend languages (Clojure, Python, Javascript, or Go) and a strong understanding of others
- Solid understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principles and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to define, develop, and maintain internal tools, SDKs, or frameworks to enhance developer productivity
- Proficient in using version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub (e.g., repository management, branching strategies, pull request workflows)
- Awareness of design patterns, architectural principles (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture), and API design best practices (REST, GraphQL/CQRS)
- Experience with security best practices in the SDLC, including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional adoption of new technologies and standards
- Deep hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS, IAM, VPC networking)
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing GitHub Workflows and Actions for robust CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AI-related tooling and methodologies such as Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or Kiro
