Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Systems

QuidelOrtho unites the strengths of Quidel Corporation and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, creating a world-leading in vitro diagnostics company. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Systems to contribute to the design and implementation of cloud-based systems that support their medical diagnostic instruments.

Responsibilities:

• Be hands on with everyday development: plan, design, write, build, test, commit software for cloud-based systems supported by AI tools
• Lead and contribute to architecture and design of software across cloud platforms, including how the instruments interact with cloud services
• Actively interact with team members in agile standups, code-reviews, discussions around software processes
• Work with team leads and business leaders to write and track user stories that accurately reflect requirements
• Support developers of all levels, leading by example, provide mentoring and work as a team player
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or Business-related field. Advanced degree is a plus
• Minimum of 6 years' professional experience developing software in the following technology areas:
• Windows. Linux a plus
• C# and .NET / .NET Core
• TypeScript and JavaScript
• C / C++ is a plus
• Single Page Applications. Angular 20+ is a plus
• SQL and/or NoSQL document database technologies
• Cloud techs (Azure a plus): services, functions, APIs, Databases, Service Bus, Queues, IoT platforms
• Scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, Python)
• GitHub Copilot / Claude or other AI tools
• Experience working with teams of 5+ people
• Effective communicator with great organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Expert knowledge of Visual Studio and Visual Studio code

• Cloud-based IoT: receiving messages at scale, state management, digital twins
• Cloud-based dev-ops systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Docker: creating images, running containers, container registry
• GIT source repositories
• Working with remote and/or vendor teams
• Ability to work on 2 or more projects with ability to prioritize
• Highly collaborative – able to work with colleagues across multiple functions at all levels of the organization
