EBSCO Information Services is a leader in providing optimized research experiences through a powerful discovery platform. They are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer II to support large-scale, cloud-based library platforms, focusing on building resilient infrastructure and automating operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain highly scalable production systems across multiple products (FOLIO, LOCATE, MetaDB) in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
- Develop and enhance automation to streamline operational processes using Java, Groovy, and scripting
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as CloudFormation, ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers and Lambda
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Jenkins and related tooling
- Participate in on-call rotations (once every few weeks) to ensure system availability and incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer environments at scale
- Assist in managing API gateway and authentication layers (Kong, Keycloak)
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency using AI and automation techniques
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required and willingness to obtain a security clearance
- 2+ years of experience performing AWS operations and support including experience with ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and developing automation
- Strong experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
- Proficiency in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages
- Experience with microservices and serverless architectures
- Willingness to work during normal business hours (8-5) in US Eastern time zone
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, JSM)
- Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to manage and support multiple products simultaneously (2–3 systems preferred)
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability and willingness to support a large-scale customer base
- Experience with Keycloak and Kong API Gateway
- Exposure to AI tools and techniques for improving operational workflows
- Experience automating repetitive tasks to drive efficiency at scale
- Demonstrated creative thinking and innovation in system operations
- Experience working in large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS environments
