Our Business
Infrastructure Services (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Our Branch
Planning and Design partners with a range of Council program areas and provides a significant contribution to almost all the infrastructure works delivered by Council.
The Role
As the Senior Engineer, Early Works and Public Utilities, you will play a key role in delivering water and sewer relocation projects that support major infrastructure and development programs. You will apply your specialist engineering expertise to investigate, plan, design and deliver urban water and sewer infrastructure solutions while ensuring projects meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.
This position has significant technical leadership responsibilities, including providing engineering supervision and certification of water and sewer designs in accordance with the Professional Engineers Act. You will work closely with customers, stakeholders, consultants and contractors to develop practical, innovative and value-for-money solutions while ensuring compliance with the SEQ Code, relevant Australian Standards and industry best practice.
The role also provides an opportunity to influence strategic outcomes across the business by mentoring designers, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and providing expert technical advice to customers, Urban Utilities and industry stakeholders. Success in this role requires a strong customer focus, excellent communication skills, sound engineering judgement and the ability to lead challenging projects from concept through to delivery.
