As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting high-precision electronics production lines, providing expert installation and support to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform or lead complex equipment installation, commissioning, operational testing, diagnostic evaluations, repairs, and system overhauls
- Perform advanced maintenance on tools, test equipment, and systems, and complete detailed documentation of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and equipment failures
- Respond to complex service calls and interface with customer personnel to provide high-quality technical support, structured problem evaluation, and resolution
- Assess product/equipment/application performance based on field support data and recommend corrective actions, system upgrades, or performance improvements
- Troubleshoot potential problems using systematic diagnostic methods and provide effective solutions related to hardware, software, system integration, and process operations
- Perform or guide technical evaluations of complex system performance and support engineering-driven modifications or improvements
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to junior technicians and support staff
- Deliver structured product and operational training to customer maintenance teams
- Support and interface with customer networks, IT infrastructure, SQL databases, and servers, as required for system integration and troubleshooting
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical, electrical, analytical, and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to logically troubleshoot complex hardware, software, application and process related issues. Be able to convey this information in a way the customer understands
- Must be fluent in English both written and spoken
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Must meet eligibility requirements to access U.S. military installations and other restricted customer sites
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills
- 2–year Associate's Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics or related field, or 2–5 years of experience in field service
- SMT experienced preferred
