Manager, Water Resources Management

Role Overview

• Lead and manage Water Resources Management and Source Water Protection strategies
• Execute the Hamilton Harbour Remedial Action Plan
• Ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act and regulations
• Establish departmental goals
• Interact with the public and Council for program support
• Build relationships with community partners and government agencies
• Plan and implement water resource management related work
• Evaluate and report on financial and staff performance
• Prepare annual budgets for the Section
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

Requirements

• Proven demonstrated knowledge and experience in the theories and practices of water/wastewater/stormwater service delivery and processes
• Previous management and leadership experience preferably in a municipal environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in water resource management and environmental governance
• Ability to work with management professionals across multiple disciplines
• Understanding of municipal infrastructure programming
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant guidelines, statutes, acts, regulations and by-laws
• Ability to engage staff in a progressive leadership style within a union environment
• Consulting skills including analysis, planning, implementation, and project management
• Proficiency in software applications used in business or financial analysis and report presentation (e.g., PeopleSoft, Excel, Word, Outlook)
