
Responsible for the oversight of the daily operation of the Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) located in the Outpatient Oncology Department for Wayne and Paterson campuses. Particpates in the operations of the Infusion Centers including performing direct patient care in the roles of a CMA where needed as well as scheduling and ensuring addequate coverage for the Wayne and Paterson Infusion centers and the Hematology/Oncology clinic. Obtains and verifies authorizations for treatment and testing. Oversees the ordering of treatment supplies ensuring PAR levels and budgetary compliance. Particpates in the interviewing and hiring of new CMA's. Responsible for the orientation and training of newly hired staff as well as annual Performance Evaluations. Participates in budgetary planning and compliance. Contributes to the overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited program and successful Certification for Medical Assistants is required. A minimum of five- years of related experience required including direct patient care, scheduling, authorizations and coordination of care. BLS required, Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Requires the ability to solve problems using critical thinking or technical principles and an in depth experience based on knowledge. Must possess strong customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
