Consulting Engineer, Manufacturing Systems Engineering

GE Aerospace is seeking a Consulting Engineer in Manufacturing Systems Engineering who will lead projects with significant business impact and serve as a technical expert in the field. The role involves managing complex assignments, providing technical leadership, and enhancing excellence across manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a recognized technical expert in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Model-Based Manufacturing, and Machine and Process Health, and provides consultation to management, all design, manufacturing, quality, supplier, and services organizations supporting engines life cycle
• Remain cognizant of state-of-the-art in Manufacturing Systems Engineering
• Provide technical leadership in design reviews, task force, industrial committees, and design boards and technical pyramids as necessary
• Work closely with Chief Consulting Engineers and Chief Manufacturing Engineers in adjacent areas
• Enhance technical excellence across manufacturing organizations in Manufacturing Systems Engineering
• Identify and recommend where improvements in knowledge of the specific discipline are needed or where technical training is needed
• Establish a total quality management strategy to assure early involvement on manufacturing process / producibility matters
• Provide leadership to help focus and integrate new technology smoothly into production
• Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to pursue
• Lead / support study teams to address top problems within the organization or projects in focused technical areas
• Consult with and support the Chief Engineer’s Office in the execution of technical goals of the office

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
• At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
• Considered an expert in a specific engineering discipline
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
