Data Facts Background Screening is a growing company in the background screening industry, seeking a competitive and motivated Senior Sales Development Representative. This role is responsible for generating qualified meetings and sales opportunities for Account Executives, while also providing a clear path towards leadership within the sales team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting efforts via calls, email, and social channels
- Identify, engage, and qualify prospective clients to generate new business opportunities
- Schedule and secure qualified meetings for Account Executives, ensuring strong alignment with ideal customer profiles
- Own the top-of-funnel pipeline by consistently delivering a steady flow of high-quality meetings
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, pain points, and buying intent
- Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoff of meetings and context
- Track, manage, and optimize meeting conversion rates (set ? held ? qualified ? closed)
- Maintain accurate records of activities and opportunities in CRM
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine messaging, targeting, and outreach strategies
- Continuously test, learn, and improve outreach strategies, scripts, and cadences
- Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights
- Assist in developing SDR playbooks and processes as the team grows
- Step up as a leader—mentor future SDRs and help shape a high-performing team
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or similar outbound sales role
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota, particularly in meeting-setting and pipeline generation
- Strong cold calling experience and comfort with high-volume outreach
- Competitive mindset with a strong desire to win and improve every day
- High energy, resilience, and a positive, 'no-quit' attitude
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and objection-handling skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization abilities
- Self-starter mentality with a desire to grow into leadership
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms
- Experience selling into HR, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations teams is a strong plus
- Experience in background screening is a plus, but not required
