The New York Racing Association (NYRA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Information Technology to oversee medium to large scale technology initiatives for NYRA Bets and enterprise technology objectives. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering projects while collaborating with Agile engineering and product teams, ensuring alignment, accountability, and compliance with technology standards.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the end to end delivery of information technology and digital product initiatives, from concept through launch
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking to ensure successful execution
- Coordinate work across IT, engineering, product, design, business teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment and accountability
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and cross team dependencies, escalating as appropriate
- Partner with Agile and Scrum teams to ensure project plans align with sprint execution, release schedules, and delivery commitments
- Track project progress and performance against approved plans; adjust timelines and sequencing as needed to meet objectives
- Provide clear, concise project status reporting, delivery metrics, and escalation summaries to management and leadership
- Ensure initiatives comply with NYRA technology standards, security policies, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness expectations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management tools, templates, and delivery practices within the IT organization
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional project management experience, preferably supporting IT or digital product initiatives
- Demonstrated experience delivering web platforms, mobile applications, or customer facing digital solutions
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum engineering teams required
- Experience working in regulated industries such as gaming, financial services, or payments
- Ability to be licensed within the state of New York and other jurisdictions
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred; PMP certification and career experiences may be considered in lieu of degree
- Familiarity working within the PMBOK principles and formal project management practices; PMP or similar certification preferred
