GTE Financial is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Application Development team. The role focuses on designing, building, and supporting critical applications to enhance member and employee experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and support enterprise-level applications across web, mobile, and backend services
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code across all layers (UI, business logic, and data)
- Translate business requirements into practical, well-architected technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with urgency and accountability
- Build and maintain integrations with internal systems and third-party platforms (APIs, services, etc.)
- Participating in full SDLC including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Contribute to establishing and improving development standards, patterns, and best practices
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability
- Sharing knowledge with team members and helping improve overall team capability
- Provide input on technical decisions, architecture, and solution design
- Help identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements
- Design scalable and reliable solutions aligned with GTE’s digital strategy
- Evaluate new tools and technologies and recommend where they add value
- Support enhancements across key platforms including online banking, mobile applications, and lending systems
- Ensure applications are stable, secure, and performant
- Support production systems and participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Maintain proper documentation, testing, and release processes
- Follow and support compliance and security standards (BSA, OFAC, etc.)
- Must demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5 to 10 plus years of software development experience
- Experience working across full SDLC
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, QA, infrastructure, etc.)
- Strong hands-on coding experience with the ability to design and build solutions independently
- Proven ability to take ownership of work from concept through production support
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong experience with: C# / .NET, ASP.NET (MVC/Web API), JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, or similar), HTML, CSS, responsive design, SQL Server / Oracle (T-SQL, PL/SQL), REST APIs, JSON, XML
- Experience with: Entity Framework or similar ORM tools, Microservices architecture, Git / source control, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps or similar), Salesforce (Apex, Lightning), MuleSoft (Anypoint platform, DataWeave, API development)
- Must demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act
