About the Role We are looking for a technically strong SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) Consultant with solid ABAP development skills to join our Finance & Analytics practice. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and sustaining the technical components that power PaPM-based profitability solutions — spanning HANA data architecture, ABAP automation, data flow orchestration, and end-to-end system stability. You will work at the intersection of finance and technology, ensuring that complex profitability models run reliably, accurately, and at scale. What You'll Do Data & HANA Architecture Design, build, and maintain SAP HANA Calculation Views to support data flows into and out of the PaPM environment, ensuring accuracy, performance, and alignment with financial data models Own the HANA database layer — including object creation, schema management, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting of data inconsistencies or performance degradation Manage and optimize inbound and outbound data flows, working across source system extracts, staging layers, and downstream consumption by reporting and analytics tools ABAP Development & Automation Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs to automate key finance processes, including scheduling logic, data preparation routines, and exception handling workflows Build and support the Queuing Program — managing job sequencing, dependency control, and error recovery to ensure reliable end-to-end processing Develop and maintain RSPC (Process Chain) validation reports to monitor data completeness, load status, and processing integrity across the pipeline Profitability Reporting & PaPM Configuration Support the build and maintenance of Preliminary P&L reporting — both the original version and the automated MC2 deliverable — ensuring accurate cost and revenue allocation flows within the PaPM model Configure, maintain, and enhance ABAP based PaPM Dashboard Report, working with business stakeholders to ensure output meets management reporting requirements Troubleshoot allocation, calculation, and output discrepancies within PaPM, tracing issues across the full data flow from source to result System Operations & Stability Own transport management activities — initiating, tracking, and troubleshooting transport requests across development, QA, and production landscapes Configure and maintain RFC connections between systems, ensuring reliable cross-system communication for data flows and process integrations Lead system troubleshooting efforts — diagnosing and resolving issues spanning HANA, ABAP, PaPM configuration, and process chain failures Conduct performance troubleshooting — identifying bottlenecks in HANA views, ABAP programs, and PaPM calculation runs, and implementing tuning measures to meet SLA requirements What You Bring 5–8 years of SAP technical experience, with at least 2–3 years of hands-on SAP PaPM (Profitability and Performance Management) exposure in a delivery or support context Strong ABAP development skills — including report development, automation programs, scheduling logic, and performance-conscious coding practices Solid SAP HANA expertise — proficient in building and optimizing Calculation Views, understanding HANA data modeling concepts, and troubleshooting database-layer issues Hands-on experience with SAP BW/4HANA or BW Process Chains (RSPC) — including chain design, monitoring, and validation reporting Working knowledge of PaPM functional concepts — including allocation cycles, profitability models, cost drivers, and P&L reporting structures sufficient to support configuration and troubleshoot business logic issues Experience managing SAP transports across multi-tier landscapes, including change management discipline and conflict resolution Proficiency with RFC connection setup and maintenance, including troubleshooting cross-system connectivity issues Demonstrated performance tuning capability — able to identify and resolve bottlenecks across HANA views, ABAP execution, and PaPM model processing Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, managing concurrent development and support workstreams Nice to Have Exposure to Analysis for Office (AfO) for consuming PaPM outputs in dashboard or workbook format Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Finance or FI/CO data structures as source systems feeding PaPM SAP HANA or BW/4HANA certification Skills & Competencies Strong diagnostic mindset — able to trace data and process issues across multiple technical layers (HANA, ABAP, PaPM, transport) without losing sight of the business impact Reliable and delivery-focused — takes ownership of operational stability and proactively flags risks before they become incidents Effective collaborator — works comfortably alongside functional consultants, finance business users, and infrastructure teams Disciplined approach to transport management, documentation, and change control in regulated or audit-sensitive environments Comfortable operating independently in complex, multi-system landscapes with multiple data sources and tight reporting deadlines
