The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics.
As a devanner, you will:
Document product movement in warehouse to ensure inven
tory accuracy, using system reports. Participates in inventories, completing count sheets and all pertinent inventory tags to document the amount and type of coffee in the warehouse.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Perform scheduled sanitation tasks to comply with quality, health and safety procedures and standards.
Support high coffee quality standards by making inspections, taking composite samples and reconditioning the coffee, that is, separating by hand poor quality coffee from good coffee to maximize the amount of good coffee received.
Unload incoming green coffee, working in a team of two lifters, a spotter, and a lift driver. Verifies product information by reviewing and comparing information from shipping documents and containers.
Use established operating procedures to determine coffee type and amounts to be supplied daily to meet production demands. Ships coffee to third party processor for the decaffeination process and returns unacceptable coffee to vendor.
Responsible for the management and/or implementation of food safety, legality, and quality programs.
We’d love to hear from people with:
Production or manufacturing environment
Ability to lift up to 150 pounds frequently in a safe manner
Ability to understand written and verbal policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards
Basic math skills
Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (21 CFR 117) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with BRC or SQF certification schemes
Forklift Operator certification or the ability to obtain certification

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
