Systems Engineer (Level 2/3) Manufacturing Operations

Location: 100% onsite in the Boston area

Duration: 4 months

Role Overview:

This role is a blend of high-level administration and hands-on troubleshooting, acting as the escalation point for the day-to-day operations team. You will be responsible for maintaining a hybrid infrastructure ranging from legacy Windows environments to modern cloud-managed endpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for server, network, and endpoint issues.
• Manage the health, security, and performance of the on-premises and cloud server environment.
• Automate deployment processes using Intune/Autopilot to streamline manufacturing floor and office hardware setups.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure 24/7 uptime for critical production systems.

Must Have:

• Windows Server: Extensive experience managing and patching environments ranging from Windows Server 2012 R2 through Windows Server 2025.
• Active Directory & Entra ID: Expert-level administration of on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID, including Group Policy management, conditional access, and identity security.
• VMware Expertise: Deep knowledge of vSphere and vCenter for managing on-premises virtualization.
• Modern Endpoint Management: Proven experience implementing and managing Microsoft Intune and Autopilot for automated provisioning.
• Core Networking: Solid understanding of routing, switching, LAN/WAN, and firewalls within Cisco or Fortinet environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Azure: Experience with server virtualization in Azure and general cloud administration.
• Storage & DR: Management of SAN/NAS storage and execution of Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans.
• Citrix: Support for virtualized desktops or applications.
• Hardware: Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS blade servers.
