About the role:
The Behavioral
Counsellor is responsible for promoting the emotional, social, and behavioral
well-being of students within the school community. The role involves assessing
students’ behavioral needs, developing individualized intervention plans,
providing counselling sessions, and collaborating with teachers and parents to
create a supportive learning environment. The Behavioral Counsellor ensures
that all practices align with the school’s mission of fostering inclusive,
respectful, and well-balanced global citizens.
What you will be
doing:
1.Provide individual and group
counselling to students facing behavioral, emotional, or social
challenges.
2.Identify and assess students who
display behavioral difficulties or adjustment issues.
3.Develop and implement personalized
behavior management plans and coping strategies.
4.Support students in building
self-regulation, resilience, and positive interpersonal skills.
5.Maintain confidentiality and ethical
standards in all counselling interactions.
6.Collaborate with teachers to develop
classroom management strategies that support positive student behavior.
7.Observe students in class or other
settings to gather behavioral data and identify triggers.
8.Implement evidence-based behavioral
interventions and monitor their effectiveness.
9.Provide crisis intervention and
immediate support for students exhibiting distress or disruptive behavior.
10.Work closely with the school leadership
team, teachers, and parents to address behavioral concerns constructively.
11.Conduct regular meetings and workshops
for teachers and parents on behavior management, emotional regulation, and
positive discipline.
12.Coordinate with other counsellors,
special educators, and health professionals to ensure comprehensive
student support.
13.Maintain accurate and confidential
student records, case notes, and progress reports.
14.Prepare reports and recommendations for
internal use or referrals when necessary.
15.Contributes to the development of
school policies related to student behavior and well being.
16.Design and deliver preventive programs
and workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, empathy, prevention
of bullying, and stress management.
17.Support school-wide initiatives that
promote emotional intelligence and positive school culture.
Who we are
looking for:
Qualifications
& Requirements
Education:
Master’s degree in psychology,
Counselling, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
Certification or license in counselling
or psychology (preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a
school counsellor or behavioral specialist, preferably in an international
or multicultural environment.
Skills:
1.Strong understanding of child and
adolescent psychology and behavior management strategies.
2.Excellent communication, empathy, and
active listening skills.
3.Ability to handle sensitive situations
with discretion and professionalism.
4.Experience in designing and
implementing behavioral support plans.
5.Cultural sensitivity and ability to
work effectively in a diverse community.
