Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions within a Microsoft Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, cloud security, and DevOps practices.

This role requires a collaborative engineer who can build enterprise-grade cloud platforms while optimizing performance, security, reliability, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Architect secure networking, compute, storage, and identity services following cloud security best practices.
• Implement least-privilege access, network segmentation, encryption, and defense-in-depth security principles.
• Evaluate emerging Azure services and recommend cloud architecture improvements based on performance, cost, and long-term sustainability.

Infrastructure Automation & DevOps

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using:
  • Terraform
  • Bicep
  • ARM Templates
  • Ansible (or equivalent)
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring, patching, scaling, alerting, and operational tasks.
• Improve deployment consistency through version-controlled infrastructure using Git.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure Azure environments comply with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement identity management, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, and governance controls.
• Continuously monitor cloud security posture and remediate configuration drift.
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams to implement secure cloud architecture aligned with organizational policies.
• Support compliance initiatives including:
  • GxP
  • 21 CFR Part 11
  • HIPAA
  • SOX (where applicable)

Operations & Optimization

• Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, reliability, and cost.
• Drive FinOps initiatives through resource optimization and cost management.
• Troubleshoot production cloud issues and participate in root cause analysis.
• Develop cloud standards, reusable templates, and platform best practices to improve developer experience.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in an enterprise production environment.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure.

Technical Skills

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Life Sciences
• Knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks including:

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Secrets Management
