Role: Java Developer

Scope
Develop and enhance new features for the Checkmate 2 application.
Integrate functionality from the ICM Files Engine into the existing platform.
Work across both backend and frontend components.
Refactor and modernize existing code to improve modularity and maintainability.
Support application deployment, debugging, and maintenance in an on-premises environment.
Assist with infrastructure-related activities such as security patches, password rotations, and production support when needed.
Collaborate with a small development team and business stakeholders.

Must Have
5+ years of experience with:
Java
Spring Boot
React.js
Strong backend development skills (role is approximately 60% backend, 40% frontend).
Experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications. Experience with Java 17 or Java 21.
Ability to work on either backend or frontend ownership areas independently.
Basic Linux/Unix command-line knowledge.
Experience debugging applications and reviewing server logs.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn domain knowledge quickly.
This is on-premises enterprise environments.

Nice to Have
Experience with MongoDB.
Financial services, accounting, forecasting, or mortgage domain experience.
Familiarity with infrastructure maintenance and security-related activities.
Experience with code refactoring and application modernization projects.
Knowledge of Red Hat Linux environments.
