Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Principal Electrical Engineer to contribute expertise on a flexible basis. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams, developing design studies, and mentoring junior employees to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Act as the bridge between engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines
- Shape Project Success: Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence
- Master Procurement & Installation: Draft detailed specifications for electrical equipment, evaluate technical bids, and select top-tier solutions to meet project needs
- Perform Precision Calculations: Execute essential electrical calculations that form the foundation of successful designs and installations
- Think Creatively: Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward
- Be Hands-On in the Field: Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations, and support start-up activities to ensure quality and compliance
- Lead & Inspire Teams: Foster a positive, goal-oriented environment with your motivational leadership style, empowering teams to achieve success
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related field for the position and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in one of the following industries required: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial and government (DOE) projects
- Experience in electrical codes, standards and criteria for power systems
- Make recommendations based on knowledge and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
- For our Nuclear positions, must be able get badged at a nuclear facility and obtain unescorted access
- For our ENERCON Federal Services positions, must be a US Citizen
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations is desired
- Candidates who have mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early to mid career engineers preferred
