Software Engineering Internship - WordPress Plugin

Elevated Web Design is an early-stage startup focused on building a modern WordPress performance plugin. They are seeking a Founding Software Engineering Intern to work directly with the founder during the final stages of product development and launch.

Responsibilities:

• Finalize features and prepare the plugin for public launch
• Build, improve, and maintain WordPress functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Debug issues, review pull requests, and improve overall code quality
• Optimize plugin performance, reliability, and user experience
• Help test releases across different WordPress environments
• Collaborate on new optimization features and future product enhancements
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and product planning

Requirements:

• Experience with software engineering fundamentals and object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Git
• Interest in WordPress development or a willingness to learn its ecosystem
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code
• Comfortable working in a collaborative startup environment where contributors wear multiple hats
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
