Terradex, Inc. is seeking a recent graduate or early-career environmental professional for a paid 90-day position focused on environmental research and data analysis. The role involves investigating environmental datasets, interacting with government agencies, and developing market insights to support business development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Research and collect environmental data related to brownfields, contaminated sites, environmental remediation projects, and Institutional and Engineering Controls
- Develop an understanding of how Institutional Controls and Engineering Controls are used across different states and regulatory programs
- Analyze differences in state regulatory approaches, legal frameworks, and implementation requirements
- Contact state environmental agencies and regulatory organizations to obtain environmental data that is not publicly available online
- Research agency organizational structures and identify key personnel involved in contaminated site management and land use controls
- Prepare summaries, reports, knowledge and marketing blogs
- Organize, categorize, and synthesize environmental data from multiple sources
- Associate environmental restrictions, remediation activities, and Institutional Controls with responsible parties, property owners, and organizations
- Support the development of datasets and intelligence that facilitate engagement with responsible parties and other stakeholders
- Aggregate findings into business development account lists
- Identify environmental managers, remediation managers, and real estate managers at companies with contaminated properties
- Research responsible parties (RPs) associated with brownfield and remediation sites
- Build contact databases of environmental decision-makers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects
- Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Experience conducting cold outreach (e.g., cold calls or emails) to request information or data, raise funds, develop partnerships, or sell a product or service
- Experience with any of the following tools or technologies: HubSpot (or another CRM), SQL, OpenAI or Anthropic AI platforms, GIS software (e.g., QGIS), n8n or similar workflow automation tools, Python, Any other relevant technical tools
- Experience collecting or obtaining data from state, county, or local government agencies
