Functional Test Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Functional Test Engineer to support testing and quality assurance activities for enterprise web applications and data systems. The role involves performing both manual and automated testing, ensuring system functionality and user experience quality through structured testing and collaboration with developers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and automated functional testing for web-based applications and data management systems
• Develop, refine, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Conduct API testing using REST protocols, validating request and response structures, error handling, and authentication workflows
• Perform SQL-based validation to ensure backend data quality, consistency, and integrity
• Execute regression, integration, system, and UAT testing, ensuring smooth end-to-end functionality
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including scheduling, test data preparation, user guidance, and issue triage
• Track, document, and communicate defects using established defect management tools and processes
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentation
• Support testing activities for systems similar to ERPIMS or other Air Force environmental data systems, including validation of environmental project data workflows
