Kimberly-Clark is dedicated to creating Better Care for a Better World, and they are seeking an Automation Project Execution Engineer. In this role, you will provide executional leadership for automation projects impacting the North America Supply Chain, collaborating with various teams to implement automation solutions effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and execution of North America Automation capital projects as projects are assigned. Focus for this role will be to lead and leverage TSP teams in developing and executing tasks related to layout, installment, capacity and delivery on K-C project objectives
- Drive overall TSP engagement as part of the Automation Project Portfolio. This includes high level of collaboration with procurement and management to drive strategic project metrics through our TSPs
- Coach, mentor and manage TSPs and Project team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute programs to improve North America’s business results
- Ensure value engineering/cost savings activities are prioritized and executed
- Ensure all work complies with Corporate Safety, Regulatory, and Quality requirements
- Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes Logistics, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and with a focus on external service providers
- This includes completing required project documentation through EFS, EDR, and Appropriation activities and Corporate Financial Instructions (CFIs)
- Consistent role modeling, growth and coaching within K-C Ways of Working
- Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner; set the example for others in the area of safety. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, reliability, and other personnel
- Lead design discussions with Mill and Central teams to review Scope, obtain alignment and feedback – Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, EHS, IT
- Has to exert influence without authority across a cross-functional team spanning the Mill/Staff Manufacturing, Logistics, capital planning, external vendors, contractors, finance and others supply chain functions in order to progress the capital project at the speed required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline (e.g. Science or Engineering related)
- Expertise in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or Mechatronics with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in capital or expense projects
- Demonstrated success in leading and delivering on capital projects - management/execution
- Incumbent should have the ability and flexibility to work in a distribution or manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation
- Incumbent should be flexible to travel >50% as dictated by business need for meetings, design/develop and start-up support, benchmarking, or best practice sharing across North America
- Experience in the design requirement and safe operation of high-speed tissue manufacturing / Tissue Converting, high-speed personal care product manufacturing equipment and Logistics/Distribution facilities processes with an ability to translate that knowledge in support of automation implementation projects
- Experience in a combination of engineering, operations, and/or leadership
- Experience with logistics and/or manufacturing automation technologies such as AGVs, AMRs, 6 axis robotics, etc. with desire to grow and employ that knowledge as a subject matter expert
- Related technical experience includes various roles at both mill/staff locations and/or cross sector experiences
- Demonstrated success in managing TSPs supporting project execution
- Familiarity with capital project management, equipment installations and start-ups
- Evidence of continuing self-development
