POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of M&A Advisory Services is accountable for the end-to-end performance of Cardone Ventures Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory Business, owning the total advisory revenue stream, including all retainer and success fees. This key leadership role involves managing the full mandate pipeline across ten core service lines covering both buyside and sellside advisory services, driving conversion rates, and ensuring strict quality standards are met across all operations. The Director is responsible for supervising team execution, coordinating resource allocation with the Director of Operations, overseeing all Letter of Engagement (LOE) execution, and reporting financial metrics (P&L, stat packages) directly to the President. Finally, the Director acts as a primary driver of the Business Acquisition Club, (BAC) community growth and represents the firm at external industry events.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Consistently meets or exceeds monthly cash collection targets as defined by the President, demonstrating strong revenue execution and deal closure discipline.
- Grows the active mandate pipeline across all service lines on a month-over-month basis, reflecting a healthy and expanding book of business.
- Converts at least 20% of ARR/ERR opportunities into active mandates (with a target of 40%), ensuring qualified prospects are advanced efficiently through the pipeline.
- Drives net growth in BAC membership on a monthly basis, expanding the network and strengthening long-term business development infrastructure.
- Ensures 100% of Letters of Engagement are fully executed prior to any work commencing, protecting the business and maintaining operational standards on every engagement.
- Submits all required pipeline and performance statistics by the weekly Thursday deadline with a 100% on-time rate, enabling accurate forecasting and leadership visibility.
- Maintains a stale deal rate below 10% of total pipeline (defined as deals with no activity in 14+ days), demonstrating proactive deal management and consistent follow-through.
OBJECTIVES
- Take full accountability for all Division II advisory revenue streams including retainers, success fees, ARR/ERR product fees, and BAC membership from day one
- Drive month-over-month pipeline growth across all 10 service lines while maintaining a stale deal rate below 10% of the active pipeline
- Achieve a minimum 20% conversion rate (targeting 40%) from ARR/ERR assessments to full mandate engagements
- Expand BAC/BAS membership net month-over-month and leverage the community as the primary mandate conversion and business development platform
- Directly manage the Senior Associate and Buy-Side BDM, ensuring high performance in both mandate execution and top-of-funnel lead generation
- Maintain 100% Letter of Engagement execution before any advisory work begins and ensure full SLA compliance across all pipeline stages
- Conduct weekly HubSpot pipeline reviews, manage stale deal escalation, and submit the Thursday stat package on time every week
- Present monthly P&L results to the President and serve as the external face of 10X Buy/Sell at client meetings, events, and industry forums
- Uphold quality standards across all 10 service lines in alignment with published SOPs and coordinate with the Director of Operations on analyst allocation and system management
COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and scale an M&A advisory operation end-to-end, including pipeline development, client relationship management, team leadership, and revenue accountability across multiple concurrent engagements
- Deep working knowledge of the full spectrum of M&A products and services including buy-side and sell-side deal execution, partnership buyouts, capital structure advisory, valuations, and recurring revenue assessments, with the ability to advise clients across each service line with credibility and precision
- Proven track record of owning a divisional P&L, managing cash collection cycles, forecasting revenue against targets, and presenting financial performance to senior leadership on a recurring basis
- Proficiency in building and interpreting financial models including DCF analysis, enterprise valuation, EBITDA normalization, and deal structure modeling, with the ability to translate outputs into clear, client-ready deliverables
- Skilled negotiator with experience structuring and closing M&A transactions, managing competing stakeholder interests, and guiding business owners through high-stakes deal decisions with confidence and strategic clarity
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years in M&A advisory, investment banking, or business brokerage
- Demonstrated experience managing a deal pipeline and client relationships simultaneously
- Strong understanding of SMB M&A transactions ($2M–$150M revenue range)
- Experience leading al team (5-10 people)
- Excellent written and verbal communication for client-facing work
