Role: Bordereaux (BDX) Analyst / Insurance Data Analyst

Position Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Bordereaux (BDX) Analyst with strong insurance domain expertise to support data validation, reporting, and reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating and analyzing bordereaux reports, working with large datasets using SQL, and identifying discrepancies between written premium and paid premium bordereaux submissions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with underwriting, finance, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and validate bordereaux (BDX) reports for carriers, MGAs, and program business.
- Analyze written premium, earned premium, paid premium, claims, and policy data for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile differences between written and paid bordereaux reports and investigate data discrepancies.
- Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple systems.
- Perform data quality reviews and identify anomalies, trends, and inconsistencies.
- Work closely with underwriting, accounting, claims, and operations teams to resolve reporting issues.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and carrier reporting requirements.
- Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards to support business and operational decisions.
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and reconciliation procedures.
- Assist in automating bordereaux creation and validation processes where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with insurance bordereaux (BDX) reporting, premium reporting, or insurance data analysis.
- Strong understanding of MGA, Program, P&C, or Specialty Insurance operations.
- Advanced SQL skills, including data extraction, joins, aggregations, and reconciliation analysis.
- Experience analyzing policy, premium, and claims data.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation techniques.
- Experience identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with carrier reporting and bordereaux submissions.
- Knowledge of written premium earned premium, paid premium, loss runs, and commission reporting.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with insurance policy administration systems and data warehouses.
- Experience supporting MGA or delegated authority business models.
