Staff Frontend Platform Engineer | Unicorn HealthTech | $190K + Equity

HUG is a rapidly growing, venture-backed technology company building products used by millions worldwide. They are seeking a Staff Frontend Platform Engineer to help shape their frontend platform and developer experience, focusing on platform engineering, design systems, and developer enablement.

Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve a cross-platform design system across web and mobile
• Build and scale shared component libraries, design tokens, and frontend tooling
• Drive frontend architecture decisions and engineering standards
• Lead modernization initiatives across React, TypeScript, and build tooling
• Improve developer experience through tooling, automation, CI/CD, and AI-assisted workflows
• Partner closely with Design, Product, and Engineering leadership
• Mentor engineers and help elevate frontend best practices across the business

Requirements:

• 8+ years of frontend engineering experience
• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript
• Experience building and scaling design systems or shared component libraries
• Proven frontend architecture and platform ownership experience
• Exposure to React Native and mobile platforms
• Experience with Storybook, Figma, accessibility, and frontend developer tooling
• Comfortable mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
• Interest in AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering productivity tools
• Experience with accessibility (WCAG)
• Internationalization and localization experience
• Experience in SaaS, HealthTech, HRTech, or other high-growth product companies
• Experience working on platform, infrastructure, or developer enablement teams
