Senior Snowflake Administrator

Senior Snowflake Administrator Location: Charlotte, NC Experience: 8+ years IT experience, 4+ years Snowflake Administration Employment type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:
Administer and support enterprise Snowflake environments.
Manage security, access controls, RBAC, SSO, masking, and governance policies.
Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, workloads, and costs.
Implement and support Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and Data Sharing.
Automate deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Manage backup, disaster recovery, replication, and platform reliability.
Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Security teams to support business initiatives.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide operational support.
Evaluate and support AI/ML and generative AI use cases within Snowflake, including Cortex AI features where applicable.

Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Administration and Architecture.
Expertise in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms.
Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with Terraform, DevOps, and automation.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
1 2 years of experience working with Snowflake Cortex AI, AI-powered data services, or related AI capabilities.
Programming experience in Python for automation, scripting, and data platform support.
Preferred Qualifications:
SnowPro Certification.
Experience with Data Governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Ataccama).
Experience with Databricks, Spark, Kafka, dbt, or modern data platforms.
Exposure to AI/ML and advanced analytics workloads on Snowflake.
Experience with Power BI tools and reporting platforms.
Knowledge of networking concepts, connectivity, and cloud network configurations.
