NARS Cosmetics is a subsidiary of Shiseido Americas, which is part of the prestigious Shiseido Company Limited. The Associate Manager, Global Marketing - Complexion and Skincare plays a critical role in supporting marketing initiatives for new launches and ongoing business, driving cross-functional collaboration to implement cohesive global strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Drive B / C-level launches (Skincare + Asia Exclusive Powders) and support Director, Global Marketing on A-level launches
- Own copy, creative, merchandising, film, packaging, and digital briefs for owned launches & support Director, Global Marketing on A-level launches, developing strategic assets to support launches across all regions and channels
- Manage direct report (Coordinator) who will own new program kick-off by managing DevX, Gate 0 briefs and Launch Bulletins in partnership with Global Product Development and New Product Development teams (and additional tasks such as Artwork, SAP, Dragonfly)
- Identify growth opportunities and serve as category expert through ongoing analysis, consumer insights, industry trends, and knowledge of category dynamics and competition – developing expertise in platforms and programs such as NPD, Beaute Research, WGSN, Mintel, Cognos and internal studies
- Manage cross-functional market research, acting as the main point of contact on all brand studies. Conduct competitive analysis as needed to identify evolving industry best practices and create actionable strategy recommendations for the complexion and skincare categories
- Manage ongoing category documents – specific areas of ownership to be determined after Global Marketing/R&R is finalized (e.g. pricing analysis, new product matrix, discontinuations, add/delete, sampling bulletin, etc.)
- Assist in the development of the 3-year global strategy in the Complexion and Skincare categories
- Prepare presentation decks to support strategic planning and retailer presentations
- Measures success of programs via postmortem analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-4 years of work experience in marketing, preferably cosmetics
- A passionate, energetic team-oriented individual with strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, creative and leadership skills
- Strong oral, written, communication and presentation skills
- Deep knowledge of competitive landscape
- A strong sense of urgency, ability to manage details and projects while responding to changing priorities and feedback
- Ability to balance quantitative analytics with marketing creativity
- Strong work ethic with a strong efficiency orientation
- Ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast moving/changing environment
