PGP Glass USA, Inc. is a global leader in premium glass packaging solutions, specializing in various industries including cosmetics and perfumery. They are seeking a Product Development Manager to lead product development initiatives for the Cosmetics & Perfumery segment, collaborating with various departments to deliver innovative packaging solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of new glass containers, shapes, and decoration solutions for the Cosmetics & Perfume segment
- Translate customer briefs, market insights, and brand positioning into feasible product concepts
- Conduct feasibility studies, determine mold requirements, evaluate materials, and define technical specifications
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams on 3D renders, prototypes, and aesthetic refinement
- Manage multiple concurrent development projects using structured project management approaches
- Create and track project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment across Sales, Supply Chain, Mold Shops, Quality, and Operations
- Ensure efficient sampling, testing, product qualification, and customer approval
- Partner with manufacturing and tooling teams to ensure mold readiness, line trials, and optimized production
- Evaluate manufacturability, cost drivers, and production constraints for new product designs
- Troubleshoot and support technical issues during pilot runs, trials, and launch phases
- Participate in customer meetings to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, and present design concepts
- Serve as the technical point of contact for new product launches, addressing design changes, quality expectations, and performance requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Design, Packaging Technology, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in glass packaging, manufacturing, consumer goods packaging, or industrial product development
- Strong understanding of mold design, IS (Individual Section) machine processes, materials science, and glass container manufacturing
- Proven experience managing cross-functional development or technical projects
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or CREO
- Experience in the cosmetics/perfume industry is a strong plus
