Xcede is a venture-backed enterprise identity startup founded by a team with a proven track record in technology. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the authorization foundation for their next-generation identity platform, influencing core architectural decisions and establishing best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in designing and building the authorization foundation for a next-generation enterprise identity platform
- Define how permissions, policies, and access controls are modeled and enforced across the product, creating the framework that enables secure, scalable access management for customers
- Establish best practices and drive technical direction in the critical domain of authorization systems
- Serve as the primary resource for authorization strategy, architecture, and implementation, helping shape both the platform and the team's approach to access control
- Play a significant role in shaping the company's product roadmap, engineering culture, and technical vision
- Work closely with the CPO and co-founder, influencing key decisions and helping define the future of the business
- Develop secure, highly scalable authorization and identity services that integrate seamlessly with modern authentication and identity standards, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC, and WebAuthn
Requirements:
- Deep experience designing and operating policy-based or relationship-based access control systems in production
- Strong understanding of Fine-Grained Authorization (FGA) architectures and enterprise-scale permission models
- Proven track record building secure, highly reliable identity and access management infrastructure
- Experience working on security-critical distributed systems
- PKI and certificate management experience
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure expertise
