Introduction:
The Senior Network Engineer will work as part of New Balance Global Network Services to design, implement and support all network infrastructures including troubleshooting, configuring, project coordination, and maintenance throughout the global New Balance environment. This position is hybrid in the New England region, primarily in Lawrence, MA. We are looking for someone with recent Retail/Supply Chain domain experience.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for network operations in corporate, retail, cloud, and data center network environments.
- Implement enterprise-wide network solutions, upgrades, and changes with a strong focus on network security.
- Interface with business unit and corporate stakeholders to consult and gather requirements for new projects.
- Build and communicate a well-organized project implementation plan.
- Provide excellent client service while evaluating enhancements to the global networks.
- Conduct technical analysis and planning for deployment of evolving technology solutions.
- Prepare technical solution designs and proposals.
- Project manage owned projects, ensuring successful delivery with effective organization and stakeholder communication.
- Guide junior engineers and vendors through configuration, implementation, and operational activities.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- University STEM degree, industry certification(s) (e.g., CCIE, CCDP, CCNP), or equivalent experience.
- Network product training/certification.
- 7+ years of related experience at multinational corporate enterprises.
- At least 4 years in a lead design role for large, complex networks.
- Experience with LAN, MAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, Internet, VPN, WiFi, DNS/DHCP, QoS, data center network environments.
- Practical experience and applied knowledge of routing protocols BGP, IS-IS, OSPF.
- Experience with Spanning Tree Protocol, VXLAN, MPLS label switching, MP-BGP routing.
- Experience with load balancers, remote access VPNs, Next Gen Firewalls.
- Experience with compliance-related regulations (PCI, HIPAA, GDPR).
Required Technical Skills:
- Layer 2 Spanning-Tree, VLAN.
- Layer 3 segmentation and advanced routing skills including VRF, MPLS, OSPF, BGP.
- Experience with Aruba Wireless Environment, Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancer, Cisco routing and switching, Meraki SD-WAN, TCP/IP.
- Ability to analyze network communications at the packet level.
- Experience with Audio/Voice/Video integrated Network Environment, Quality of Service, SBC, SIP, AV protocols.
Required Non-Technical Skills:
- Self-starter with limited minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed, be available 24x7 for escalations.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, collaborative approach.

- Experience building networks in warehouse and manufacturing environments.
