EncryptEdge Labs is offering a Junior Cloud Security Engineer Internship that provides a hands-on learning experience focused on securing cloud environments. Interns will work on guided projects covering cloud infrastructure security fundamentals and gain practical skills in cloud security engineering and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and apply cloud security principles and best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Set up and secure cloud environments, virtual networks, and IAM policies
- Identify and remediate common cloud misconfigurations and vulnerabilities
- Implement encryption for data in transit and at rest using native cloud tools
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., AWS CloudTrail, Azure Monitor)
- Conduct security assessments and generate clear, actionable security reports
- Explore automation of security controls using Terraform, Ansible, or Python scripts
- Complete a final hands-on cloud security project, simulating a real-world cloud defense scenario

- Understanding of cloud monitoring, logging, and incident response workflows
- Knowledge of compliance and security automation concepts in DevSecOps pipelines
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, Azure Security Center, or Google Security Command Center
- Experience or familiarity with open-source cloud scanners like ScoutSuite, Prowler, or Cloud Custodian
- Experience or familiarity with Terraform or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and secure provisioning
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks
- Access to a reliable computer and stable internet connection
- Willingness to work in cloud-based virtual environments and follow security best practices
- Ability to manage multi-platform lab setups (training and support provided)
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cloud Computing, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
- Demonstrated self-learning through certifications, online projects, or cloud labs
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud through personal or academic experience
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- CompTIA Cloud+ or Security+
- TryHackMe Cloud Fundamentals or Cloud Security Path
