About this role
CoinFlip is a global digital currency platform focused on providing secure access to cryptocurrency transactions. They are seeking a DevOps Engineer to build, scale, and maintain their cloud-native infrastructure while ensuring compliance and reliability across their systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage AWS and EKS infrastructure via Terraform with an emphasis on scalability and maintainability
- Manage and scale our Kubernetes (EKS) clusters for high availability and fault tolerance
- Maintain, provision, and regularly upgrade various AWS components (RDS, EKS, etc.)
- Oversee the organization’s Gitlab infrastructure and implement high standards
- Build robust CI/CD pipelines and streamline application deployment processes
- Collaborate with security and legal teams to ensure future compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)
- Monitor infrastructure health and performance using observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Wiz, CloudWatch)
- Implement automated security controls and proactive incident response mechanisms
- Participate in architecture reviews, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategy development
- Provide mentorship to junior DevOps and SRE team members
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
- Expert-level experience with AWS services, especially in multi-region deployments
- Strong proficiency in Terraform, with a track record of managing complex IaC projects
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, associated tools (kubectl, helm, prometheus, k9s, etc.), and operational practices
- Experience working in compliance-heavy environments and collaborating with legal and security teams
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
- Strong background in monitoring, alerting, and logging systems
- Familiarity with container security, IAM policies, VPC design, and cloud networking
- Basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchains
- General passion and knowledge of fintech and cryptocurrency
