GoGreenLocally is a volunteer-powered environmental nonprofit that helps individuals and communities connect with opportunities to live more sustainably and take action to clean, protect, and restore the environment. They are seeking volunteer Social Media Managers to help share stories, resources, events, and opportunities that empower people to take action in their communities.
Responsibilities:
- Create and publish at least one social media post and one story each week
- Help highlight program activities, resources, events, and success stories
- Collaborate with program leaders and other volunteers to gather content ideas
- Participate in monthly marketing team meetings
- Follow GoGreenLocally branding and communication guidelines
- Have the content reviewed by a peer and our marketing team manager before publishing
Requirements:
- Interest in sustainability, environmental issues, climate solutions, or community engagement
- Strong written communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Creativity and willingness to learn
- Experience with Canva or other design tools is helpful but not required
