Senior Java Software Engineer

CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support application analysis, documentation, and modernization efforts. This role involves understanding existing systems, analyzing code, identifying business logic, and collaborating with business teams to enhance applications.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing Java applications to understand business processes and system behavior
• Review source code to identify business rules, data flows, and integration points
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to explain technical functionality
• Create and maintain functional specifications, process flows, data mappings, and technical documentation
• Support application modernization initiatives by identifying reusable components and dependencies
• Troubleshoot application issues and clarify system behavior during testing and deployment
• Participate in architecture, design, and technical discussions
• Perform technical analysis on defects and enhancement requests
• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test data
• Provide development estimates, support releases, and resolve production issues

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of Java development experience
• Strong experience with Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, Struts, PrimeFaces, EJB, and Java EE technologies
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar relational databases
• Experience with Bitbucket or other version control systems
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience analyzing existing applications and documenting business logic
• Experience working directly with business and functional teams
• Unix/Linux experience
• Experience with Bash, Bourne, or Korn shell scripting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend deployments
• Experience with application modernization or migration projects
• SCP experience
• Strong database knowledge
• Experience working in regulated industries
• Knowledge of SOA, microservices, and RESTful services
