Electric Distribution Engineer II

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer II to join their Electric Distribution Team in Reading, PA or Fort Washington, PA. In this role, you’ll help design, enhance, and modernize electric distribution systems, contributing to impactful projects and collaborating with seasoned professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of preliminary design concepts and perform comparative cost analyses for electric distribution systems
• Assist in creating computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers
• Identify and correct technical discrepancies in analytical results, following established procedures
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as firm and client standards
• Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment and planning of electrical distribution networks
• Contribute directly to projects that improve grid resiliency, enhance storm response, and support the energy transition
• Flexible work environment with opportunities for local and occasional travel
• Make a tangible impact by modernizing aging infrastructure and integrating new technologies that strengthen utility systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience
• Strong theoretical knowledge and willingness to learn within the engineering discipline
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering software (PLS-CADD, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations
