About this role
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will design and automate the configuration of public cloud environments and connect them to on-prem enterprise environments, while resolving infrastructure issues and contributing to strategies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies and resolves problems related to public cloud infrastructure in a timely manner and analyzes information skillfully
- Develop Infrastructure as Code to build and maintain public cloud environments
- Update and maintain git repositories
- Focuses on solving technical problems in a fast-paced environment
- Contributes to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices through participation in team meetings and other direct contributions
- Provides technical guidance and end user training
- Initiates professionalism, excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Works independently as well as in a cooperative team environment
- Demonstrates fast and independent learning capabilities
- Some travel to offices in other regions may be required (10%)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience and knowledge of public cloud (Azure and AWS)
- Ability to automate with Infrastructure as Code using a variety of technology types (ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
- Cross-functional IT expertise (storage, network and database infrastructure)
- Strong experience with both Windows and Linux servers
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud compute and storage technologies used with Azure (Disk, Blob, Files) and AWS (EBS, EFS, S3)
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud networking architecture used with Azure (vNet, load balancers, Virtual WAN, VPN, Express Route) and AWS (VPC, load balancers, transit gateway, VPN, Direct Connect)
- Experience with knowledge of public cloud identity and access management methods
- Excellent documentation, intercommunication, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
- Good Understanding and implementation of ITIL concepts
- Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
- Artifact binary repository management
- Extensive scripting experience (Bash, Ansible, Python, Groovy, Powershell, etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Knowledge of configuration file types (YAML, JSON)
- Familiar with DevOps practices
- Have a strong sense of networking in public cloud
