The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical design and technical development of utility-scale energy projects, collaborating with teams to ensure proposals are accurate and aligned with client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Reads and understands the electrical scope of projects that are in RFP/estimating phase. Develops a plan/design that incorporates power quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and Blattner Energy lessons learned into each proposal
- Directs a team that generates design drawings and documents for the Estimators and Supply Chain to bid. Ensures takeoffs are complete and accurate
- Coordinate with other Senior Engineers to establish plans for resources and design schedules on project designs
- Performs drawing reviews of 3rd party engineering firms design packages to ensure designs meet industry and Blattner’s standards and best practices
- Ensures that designs support safe work practices and comply with all applicable safety standards including NESC, NEC, and NFPA
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited college required
- Five or more years of progressive engineering, engineering supervisory, and/or construction/field experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation) required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate
- Renewables-focused experience is a plus
