The Security Engineer will advance the company's information security program by implementing and managing security technologies, collaborating with teams, and strengthening security controls across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across business areas to support secure product and service delivery
- Serve as a security subject matter expert across multiple security domains and provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices
- Evaluate existing security tools and recommend enhancements, replacements, or consolidation opportunities
- Implement, configure, maintain, and optimize security technologies to ensure effectiveness and business value
- Partner with technology and engineering teams to integrate security controls and solutions across the enterprise
- Educate, advise, and influence stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, controls, and best practices
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of digital assets and support automation of asset management processes
- Partner with the VP of Information Risk and Cyber Assessments to communicate risks and recommendations to leadership
- Support secure cloud adoption and implementation of security controls across enterprise environments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity administration, engineering, or security operations
- Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise security technologies, including EDR/XDR, DLP, identity and access management, vulnerability management, cloud security, and attack surface management solutions
- Experience with security platforms such as Microsoft Defender XDR, Google SecOps, ReliaQuest GreyMatter, Netskope, Box Shield, or comparable technologies
- Experience with PowerShell and automation of security operations in enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud computing concepts
- Familiarity with cloud security services and governance tools within Microsoft Azure and AWS environments
- Experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security monitoring practices
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001
- Understanding of security considerations for emerging technologies, including AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
- Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), or AWS Certified Security – Specialty preferred
