VSP Vision is a company that focuses on providing vision care solutions, and they are seeking an HR Business Partner to provide advice and counsel on human resources matters. The role involves administering HR policies, supporting managers with employee relations issues, and implementing strategies for organizational development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and counsel to Managers, Supervisors and Employees in one or more assigned functional areas, regarding Human Resources matters including policies and procedures, employee relations, compensation, conflict management and employee benefits
- Administer and interpret a full range of Human Resource related policies and programs
- Provide feedback and counsel on employee relation issues ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws
- Counsel Managers/Supervisors on employee performance issues to ensure appropriate corrective action is taken
- Interpret policies and employee state and federal regulations to ensure performance, management issues, and corrective actions are resolved in a fair, equitable, and consistent manner
- Partner with business areas to implement strategies that support effective individual and organizational development and meet business goals and objectives
- Present ad hoc training as identified by needs assessment in assigned functional areas
- May present company-wide training programs and presentations
- Respond to employee issues/concerns regarding policies, staffing, and disciplinary actions
- Provide feedback and counsel to managers to ensure appropriate and agreed-upon action is taken
- Identify, resolve, or refer complex issues in the areas of training, compensation, staffing, and employee relations to the appropriate Human Resource Staff
- Support HR projects from inception to implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in a major HR function with increasing responsibility
- Basic knowledge of employment and labor laws
- Basic understanding of employee benefit plans and administration, compensation, and staffing
- Basic understanding of change management, organizational development theory, and practices
- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to communicate policy and procedures, resolve employee-related issues and work with all levels of the organization
