Software Engineer III Contractor

TechnologyAdvice is a remote-first company that helps B2B tech buyers manage the complexity of the buying process. They are seeking a Software Engineer III Contractor to deliver full-stack features for their internal lead generation platform, emphasizing ownership, collaboration, and quality across the stack.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications that support our internal platform
• Own delivery of features from technical design through deployment and post-release support
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to clarify requirements and design pragmatic technical solutions
• Build and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel/Lumen) or Python
• Contribute to frontend functionality using JavaScript where needed
• Develop APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Work within AWS-based infrastructure and Git-based deployment workflows
• Participate in structured code reviews and uphold engineering quality standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues when they arise
• Contribute to architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and quality

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments
• Proven experience operating at a mid-senior or senior IC level with ownership of feature delivery
• Strong backend proficiency in PHP (Laravel/Lumen) or Python
• Comfortable contributing across the stack, including JavaScript-based frontend work
• Experience building and maintaining API-driven systems
• Solid experience working with relational databases
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments such as AWS
• Familiarity with containerized applications and CI/CD workflows
• Able to independently move defined features from ready-for-development to deployed production systems
• Strong collaborator who works effectively with Product and cross-functional teams
• Comfortable operating in a distributed team across time zones
• Open to leveraging AI-assisted development tools
• Must have a working laptop/pc and internet and back-up connection
