Altera Digital Health is a company focused on providing application solutions in the healthcare sector. They are seeking a Business Analyst to interact with stakeholders, translate business requirements into detailed specifications, and support the development teams throughout the software lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of the Manager to provide application solutions for assigned business areas
- Possess functional knowledge of assigned application technology
- Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to solicit business requirements
- Translate business requirements into user story maps, product-specific designs and configuration, detailed requirement specifications and use cases
- Deliver functional specifications, design documents, business process workflow and related documentation for new development projects and/or enhancement and modification requests to be used by development teams
- Interact with development teams during the software build and/or configuration process and testing process
- Perform functional application configuration and testing
- Ensure programs meet business specifications
- Demonstrate new functionality to business users seeking input on future direction
- Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals needed to support the product
- Directly interface with business users by responding to support calls escalated by the Service Desk
- Participate in user focus groups and requirements workshops, vendor training and demonstrations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or healthcare administration or equivalent/years of experience required
- 1-3 years' experience working with Patient Access/ Registration Solutions (or systems) in both an acute and ambulatory setting
- Understanding of Patient Access workflows including Insurance Verification, Authorizations, Referrals, Medical Necessity checking, and Eligibility as it relates to healthcare billing
- Strong analytical thinking with experience breaking down complex requirements into user stories
- Strong coordination, organizational, facilitation skills to support management of cross functional dependencies
- A qualified candidate should have strong professional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to meet deadlines and multitask
- Experience leading teams or projects is an asset
- Experience working within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in leveraging generative AI tools to streamline tasks and enhance output quality is an asset
- May require some limited travel for business needs
