About this role
Cognizant is a leading provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services. They are looking for a Healthcare Business Analyst with experience in healthcare and medical domains to work closely with business and technical teams to understand requirements, improve processes, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Understand business needs from healthcare stakeholders (providers, payers, or pharma)
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
- Work with SMEs, clients, and project teams to define functional solutions
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications
- Support testing activities such as UAT and ensure the solution meets business needs
- Analyze healthcare workflows and suggest process improvements
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA or similar)
- Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams
Requirements:
- Strong experience in the healthcare domain (payer, provider, or life sciences)
- Good knowledge of healthcare processes such as claims, billing, EHR/EMR, or patient data
- Experience in business analysis, requirement gathering, and documentation
- Familiarity with tools like Excel, SQL, JIRA, or Confluence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in an Agile or Waterfall environment
- Experience working as an SME (Subject Matter Expert)
- Knowledge of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD codes, etc.)
- Experience with data analysis or reporting tools
