Westinghouse Electric Company is dedicated to providing clean energy solutions, and they are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support various nuclear projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards, overseeing quality processes across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing, and managing quality control staff.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and approving quality-related procedures, work instructions, drawings, specifications, field change requests, Project Quality Plans, and other project and Quality-related documents ensuring that quality requirements are built into the processes
- Assembly of documentation packages per PQP and contract requirements
- Review and approve purchase orders for quality-impacting materials and services
- Review inspection results for correctness and compliance
- Performing internal surveillances of quality processes to ensure compliance
- Review and approve supplier documentation such as CMTRs and inspection records
- Verify compliance with design, regulatory, and contractual requirements
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Verifying that all work performed at the Manning location and at Customer sites is in accordance with design requirements, Codes and Standards, and project contract agreements
- Performing assigned Witness/Hold points as identified in the work process documentation
- Coordinating dispositions of any deficiencies and nonconformances related to materials and processes. Ensuring deficiencies are documented, investigated, and resolved
- Providing quality oversight of in-process welding, machining, NDT, and other inspection processes
- Initiating 'Stop Work' when necessary to ensure compliance to procedures, processes, and Codes
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Managing and directing the Quality Control (QC) field staff, as needed
- Assist Project Management with Quality Program Indoctrination to the Project Team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical discipline
- 6+ years working with ASME Section III, ASME NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and 10CFR21, and other ASME and National Board Codes
- Experience with supplier audits and nuclear-grade procurement
- Relevant experience and application with US NRC Regulations and ASME Code
- Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
- Ability to travel up to 30%
